polishing aluminum cases

I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack, but I'm going to say that you have a lot of sanding to do before you get to liquid polish. HD cases are rough cast and would take considerable sanding to get them to the point of liquid polish for making them shine. Just my .02

+1 You will need to do alot of sanding if there hasnt been any upkeep done on a reg basis. I did this to my ol's bike and it had been down for some time. I started with 600 wet took it to 1200 wet. Then came the polishing. Once again there's a chit load of brands. I think i spent about 5 hrs. Get a good polishing wheel for yo drill, cordless should be good, i used my 18 volt dewalt.
Just my 2 cent- Good luck Beer helps

0000 steel wool and Mothers aluminum polish has always worked great for me..
If there older cases and have oxidation.. several liquid de-oxidizers availabe,, use it 1st and save a ton of elbow grease..once you have em lookin good ..finish up with a polishing ball on a cordless drill still using the Mothers,, end up looking like chrome and shine will last for quite some time..

Hey Pastor Tom, Can you tell me a name that might be on the Liquid Deoxidizers? I sure need some of that for my sporty. I have heard that you can use Aircraft Stripper to cut the clear coat off, Is that what the Deoxiders do? TIA.
