Default Exhaust - V&H Double Barrel vs. Screming Eagle Slip-ons

I'm getting my bike (Fatboy) in Oct and want to replace the exhaust at purchase. I wasn't louder and tougher looking pipes but I don't want them so loud that I'm nervous when passing police or a school-zone. So I guess I'm looking for something in the middle. I want to be heard when I want to, but not be obnoxious.

I like the look of the Screaming Eagle Slash Down slip-ons but also really like the Vance & Hines Double Barrel exhaust. I could afford either one at purchase and this is the last decision that is bugging me.

From what I'm looking for, what would you recommend?

Vance and Hines. SE slip ons are ok, but V&H products look great and perform better! YOu may want to think about Big shots. they have optional quiet baffles that reduce noise but let the beefy notes shine through. In addition, you can also pop the regular baffles in if you go cruising out in the country.

The staggered Big Shot's are really awesome looking. Nice to know I can throw in different baffles for different volumes, I didnt know that. Yeah, that might be the way to go!

double barrels, I tried the SE slip ons and the double barrels on my Heritage the slip ons don't sound anywhere as good as the double barrels IMO

and they look better.

the SE sound raspy and make lots of noise

the DB's are throaty and mellow and can bark when you twist the wick

I just put the big shot staggers with quiet baffles on my 07 FB. They are a lot louder than the stock pipes. I can't imagine how loud these pipes would be with the standard baffle. They do sound pretty good although I have gotten some bad looks from my neighbors.

I had SE slip on's on my 07 FXDL...IMHO they suck sound wise.....just recently installed V&H staggered duals and they rock...louder yes...but my scoot now sounds like a HD should...just my .02
