Default Rush Mufflers w/Two inch Baffles

Just don't have the sound I am looking for.

If I pull the baffles out and replace them after ripping out the fiberglass will that give the tone the edge I want?

only 1 way to find out.
personally, I didn't like the rush sound either and went to V&H basic slipons. They seem to have a lower bellow than the rush IMO.

Yup V&H are good pipes.
They put alot of R&D into there products, plus have a racing background so the performance is gaurunteed to be there.

Depends on what kind of bike you are talking about.....if you do it on a touring bike, they will sound like crap. Do it on a Dyna and you'll probably like the sound.

What kind of bike and exhaust are you running now?

I went with the Rush 2.5's and I think you can just change out the baffles and go up to 2.25's or 2.5's. As I recall they had a video and sound clip area on their site with each of the different sizes running on a bike.

If, however, you go up from the 2.0's you will have to change your head pipes to dual head pipe if they aren't already and re-map the ECM. Other wise you will get a lot of popping on decel and it can be really obnoxious.

I have Rush slip-ons with 2.25" baffles on my 2008 Nightster. It is just the sound I was hoping for and I get a lot of compliments on the deep sound. It is a bit louder than I had aniticpated, but it is a nice rumble. Guess it does depend on the bike.

The bike is an 08 Fat Bob. Loud is good, but they just sound kinda boomy. The sound I really want is like the BUB pipes on a 94 Low Rider I had. They have kind of a bite to em.
