I don't think it's legal in any state that I'm aware of but it does happen all the time.

and it does suck when you are trapped between two lanes of traffic going in different directions.&nbsp\\; The best thing is, as was stated earlier, keep to the middle of the lane.

It's important to protect your lane. It seems from your post you were with at least 1 other rider. 2 or more riders should have no prob doing this. In FL it is illegal to travel outside of the travel lane\\; no passing on the right unless you've got a marked lane.

I said I didn't think it's legal in any state I'm aware of.
Didn't say I knew for sure it was illegal in all states.

I make my left hand turns from the right part of the lane.&nbsp\\; My feeling is that I am going to take up just as much space as a car.&nbsp\\; If they don't&nbsp\\;
lik e&nbsp\\;it too freaking bad.

It is illegal in Michigan to pass on the right if you cross over the white line even if the shoulder is paved.&nbsp\\; People do it all the time though whether your on a bike or in a vehicle.
