The tamper proof bit has a hole in the end to mach a pin in the center of the torx screw/bolt.

Some tools I've found are better not to scimp on. Torx, 12 point sockets are just a couple. Cheaper ones aren't sized right, can round off, don't grip well and can ruin a bolt, nut, or screw head. You spend more time fighting with it than if you had a qaulity peice, JMHO.

I would check e-bay for snapon tools as you can get it for half that used.

Funny you should ask xcelr8, just bought a T40 to break loose the bolts holding the front disc.Grabbed and turned them right out.Twisted the T40 off out of the no names I got off ebay cheap.Gonna get the entire Craftsman 3/8" dr set now, think they were $39 at Sears.

Snap On, Mac, Lisle, SK are all made by the same company.&nbsp\\; Buy the Lisle and save some $.
