Expensive tire replacment!

RE: Expensive tire replacment!
All motorcycle dealers labor rates are too high, it doesn't matter the brand of the bike. That is a ridiculous amount for a rear tire and labor for sure though. The last time I needed tires for my bike I ordered the tires from J&\\;P Cycles. Think it was about $105.00 for the front and $125.00 for the rear. A local \\;indy shop charged me about \\;$75.00 to mount, balance, and install both of them if my memory serves me correctly. \\;

My riding buddy rides a 07 Kawasucki Nomad. He just turned 19000 miles on it. He has replaced the rear tire twice, and the front one once. I have 19000 on my 07 Ultra, replaced the rear tire at 15000. $185. He is so tight he squeaks when he walks, so he is very unhappy.

Theres a lot of indy shops out there that will mount and balance a tire for around $20. Some will also give you a deal if you buy the tire from them. Glad I know how to turn my own wrenches.

Gails is a good dealership, and I usually make a run up there whenever I need to get something from HD.

I replace my own. \\; It just is not a difficult job. \\; I do them in less time the a dealer quotes the hour rate. \\; Not only does it amve money It feels good not to have some one else do it. \\; Save the trip to the dealer. \\; I'm 30 miles from a dealer.
