I know, they look good and you like them,but depending on where you ride you will just have to accept the fact that you may very well get a ticket.

Youre dead in the water. You violated the federal emmission law by tampering with the factory exhaust or pollution control system. Period! Local juristicians mico enforce a federal law. Pay the fine, get it signed off if thats an option and move on.
Ive had a stste highway cop here in Cali say the dept has become educated on all the aftermarket ex systems and are doing stings on dealers and bikes on the road.

Take a trip through the local law enforcement departments parking lot and jot down the license plate number of the bikes you see with aftermarket i.e loud exhaust, then go inside and file a noise complaint when they start them up. The sheriff dept here has 10-12 Harleys in the jail employee parking lot everyday.
Most of the cops around here are good guys and I've never seen them write a ticket for loud pipes.

Pay the ticket and hope you don't get another one or put on a quieter exhaust system. I got tired of getting pulled over so I put on a quieter exhaust and haven't been pulled over since.

I'm hearing these stories more and more in various part of the country.&nbsp\\; Thats why when I bought my Road King I didn't bother to even change out the exhausts this time.

OK, but the question was, did he measure the sound in dbs? Does he have evidence?&nbsp\\;

I agree that there can be a noise ordinance but it has to be based on something tangible so that you can be accused of something specific regarding the amount of noise.

I guess from now on its back to drilling out the baffles on the stock mufflers. At least they couldn't get you on non epa pipes alone. At least not on a visual inspection.

I think you're reading too much into it. Anyone can tell when a pipe has been altered. They're just too quiet now days. So if you take that into account, it's easy to write someone based off the "no person shall modify" part. And it will get upheld in court. You don't need a&nbsp\\;decibel meter&nbsp\\;to tell a&nbsp\\;muffler is&nbsp\\;louder than stock.
