Decibels don't have to be measured. Any dummy will know if you put on aftermarket pipes. Question is, are they DOT approved. Again, most ordinances are not written hamstringing the LEOs to measure this.

Basically, he's proven his part when he wrote the ticket. He&nbsp\\;specified an ordinance.&nbsp\\;Now the judge has to decide if he was right, or wrong. Again, depending on the ordinances, and he specified one on the ticket, the defendants only argument would be if he had 8 inch baffles instead of 6. Basically proving the cop didn't know what he was talking about in that specific instance.

 

On speeding part. In many jurisdictions, visual estimation is acceptable in the court systems. California Highway Patrol, for many years, never even used radar. Just totally depends on the area.

Wilburz, I think you're he first member of the Florida Crew to get a ticker for loud pipes. Next time we ride I owe you a beer as your prize. The statute he nailed you under deals with exhaust and noise prevention. Could be one of those things that could go either way if you fought it in court.

i sent an email to abate of florida withmy info. see what they say. also the cop wrote the wrong house number on my address on the ticket. would be nice to get a large group of bikes to go down there and ride past them and see what happens.

 

Question,are your pipes loud?I know my buddies deuce is but he doesn't care.

 

i would say , yes, they are&nbsp\\;loud. but not as loud as straight pipes.

 

Short shots can be loud, mine are, but have have heard many pipes louder. I'm so glad my state doesn't have a pipe law.
