Putting Steel Wool inside exhaust baffles
Has anyone ever put steel wool inside of their aftermarket exhaust to quieten them down some? \\; Will the steel wool burn up?

it'll most likely be pushed out by the exhaust, but if not, your bike may stall out or worse.

Try this. Get a ball of very fine grade steel wool, take a 9 volt battery &\\; touch the wool with the 2 terminals. Instant camp fire starter. I wouldn't put them in my pipes unless I need to keep out rodents.

It will quiet it down temporarily and if your lucky it will shoot little sparks out in the dark.

i just wrapped mine....aint started it yet....motor's apart doin a freshen.....i'll let all yall know what happens ..... i wrapped a rush 2" with #2 steel wool and then put the fiberglass packin back on....it may catch on fire, we'll see.....mythbusters aint got **** on me

Ive been useing this stuff and it works great and seems to last about forever Ultra-High \\;Temperature \\;Foil-Faced \\;Strips,  \\;I get it from McMaster-Carr
