Thanks again guys. I'd love to deal on an 08 right now, but I'm currently not working and can't afford it. I'm in graduate school and have a good job lined up starting in 3 months.

I love Rockers, Super Glides, Night Trains, Deuce's (coming back in 09 maybe?).. Not sure what I'll finally settle on!

Well, I'm off to work for free for 8 hours.

Just bumped again. Try Craigslist before the Stealer if "taking it slow". I got a wonderful bike there before this.

Aloha,

BoneCrusher, nice bike! Do you think a first time rider could be safe on a Deuce/softail? Or should I go with something smaller? The Harley salesman says I'll be fine starting with a "big bike"... Though I know some people recommend learning on something lighter/less powerful. My problem is I'm 6'1 so I don't fit very well on smaller bikes.
&nbsp\\;
Thanks alot!!Yes I think youd be fine on a Deuce.They are easier to ride than sporties IMO.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Its good to get opinions from people who don't stand to profit from me getting a bigger bike. I never trust a salesman

you have to learn how to judge a salesman, because EVERYTHING you buy is from a salesman. Just somethin' the books never teach.
&nbsp\\;
wait till you have the dough before you start to buy toys.

Just one chick's experience...

I can't tell you the number of people who said "I'm so glad you didn't get a Sporty" when I bought my first bike (a Deluxe). I had several skilled riding buddies who shared their thoughts that new riders buy the Sportster because it's the cheapest Harley, but that it's not a beginner bike. After riding one, I would agree - I found the Sporty much more top-heavy than my Deluxe, and I feel a lot more stable on a wider front tire.

Good luck with whatever you end up getting!
