RE: People buying Harley Sportsters to save Gas
The gas crunch is the latest excuse I told my wife why I needed a Nightster,the midlife crisses thing was good for the last three,had to change my story she wasn't buying the crisses thing anymore.

I save $12 a day in gas for my roundtrip back and forth to work. Based on 20 days per month, that's $240 per month savings. My payment is $278 + $41 for insurance. So the bike costs me $79 per month on average. On top of that. now my wife can drive my Mustang and park her truck. So that's even more savings.

Dyna_Soar,
 \\;In Nashville, the local TV news shows how a bike (usually Vespas or Hondas) can save on gas.  \\;They forget to mention the class M license and DOT helmet requirement if you don’t want a moped, and they showed the 250 cc version. \\;

Replaced my first rear at 14k on SuperGlide. Still a lot more $ than a car.
ORIGINAL: atomic
The cost of a new rear tire every 6000 miles sort of eliminates any gas savings. \\;\\\\\\;
