Years ago, I had a tire go the same way. Rode sort of parallel across a set of trolley tracks and the side of the rail laid the tire wide open, just the way you are saying.

Yep wrestled bike to a stop, kinda pissed tire would fail like that.

Im not trying to one up ya, \\; however i had \\; a \\; simple FLAT goin 85 mph with mama on the back, \\; I was able to get to the side of the road, safely. Turned out a 10 penny nail, into the tire. \\; $180 tow plus a plug( it was \\; friday nite) and \\; a NEW TIRE AT BEARS HARLEY in \\; PA<\\; \\; the next morning. \\; \\; WHEN your tire is removed have a close look inside, and show the tire rep. Thankfully your safe.

I don't think someone would go to the trouble to lay on the ground and slit the bottom of your tire. prob. road hazard or defect.

same thing happened to my buddy last week new dunlop tire 3" slit cant elaborate wont post long version

It is funny that you mention that, I have had a slit in my front tire since the first week that I bought the bike brand new, it goes across the \\;tire only it is not all the way thru obviously. I wonder if it is a defect in the Dunlop tires?? \\; \\; \\;
