Default Helmet Instructions

13. Keep helmet in safe place.
&nbsp\\;
Huh? What good is a helmet that needs to be kept in a safe place?

I guess if someone wants to steal it. Wouldn’t want to run over it with your car.

Any place is a safe place for a helmet. I have never heard of anyone having their helmet stolen (I probably will now on this forum).

That’s why they sell helmet locks, people these days steal anything that isn’t bolted down and even that may not stop them, if they steal the copper pipe off your house why not your helmet. Sick, I tell ya. Or maybe, no can’t go there.

Bedroom closet is the safest place I keep mine about 50% of the time. The other safe place would be on my head. Last time I hit the road I was a lot younger but it was on my backside. That's where I needed that helmet. Road rash on my backside.

I had my garage burgled and my HJC fullface was one of the items stolen. (Bike was not there, thank god.) I guess I should have put it in my safe deposit box at the bank.

I think a safe place means somewhere wher it will not fall and hit the floor. Can cause unseen cracks and compromise the integrity of the shell. But, thats just what I hear.

My helmets are either in the hall closet on a shelf, or on my lid while riding.&nbsp\\;A safe place the manufacture is implying is somwhere where it won't get&nbsp\\;dropped. Drop your $200+ skid-lid and the stress fractures you can't see makes it just a decorative ornamet.&nbsp\\;Take care of your helmet!
