To keep from going deaf, ya nut.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; Especially after riding on the interstate, if I don't wear ear plugs my ears will ring and be fuzzy/muffled feeling for two days.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; I'd like to still be able to hear past 55.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;

And to think of all those years I let my dogs ride in my truck with their heads out the windows with no ear plugs...

Don't like the foam ones, not a good fit and they get nasty dirty. Use the rubber ones from the pharmacy section in walmart, purple in color (2 pairs $3). For small ears try Remington shooter plugs (little smaller, very soft). Don't like the earplane ones, hard and uncomfortable after awhile. Also I wear the ipod a lot.

After reading a couple articles on the subject, I just started wearing ear plugs - the foam ones - $14 for 80 pair at Home Cheapo. Package says they're rated for 31db, not sure if I beleive that. They're a pain to insert, but they seem to work fairly well. Do the more expensive custom jobs really cut down so much more db that they're worth the extra cost?&nbsp\\;

You could also take hot wax and pour down into your ear, wait about five minutes, pull them out&nbsp\\;and presto, molded ear plugs!!

It's easy to pick out the forum users that haven't lost their hearing YET.
