I've got to agree with the Dyna Lowrider recommendations. My '95 FXDL is my first Harley, and I'm sooooo glad it is even as I shop for a bagger to replace it. As a solo bike, the Dyna is fabulous. Two-up, it's a tad cramped (the reason we're replacing it), but it absolutely rocks when I'm out alone. Did I say how much I love it? Saw a CVO model today with a 110" motor and a rockin' paint job. sigh If only I could win the lottery.

The FXDL is an extremely maneuverable bike. It literally dances around corners. On the open road, it's very comfortable, what with the rubber-mounted engine and all.

Definitely, definitely go take one for a test drive.

Ok, I will chime in with my biased opinion. I went from a 1200C to a Fatboy and am extremely happy. The FB seems to strattle the line between touring and performance very well. It is a smooth easy ride, but handles almost as well as the Sporty and acceleration is extremely close. The wife inheirited the sportster and see loves it, but I don't think I could go back for any length of time.

I spend a lot of time in the saddle so a touring class works for me plus you get to listen to tunes while cruising and they carve the twisties real well. I have a knife edge on my right tail pipe
for proof.
My wife love her cvo softail springer she is 5'3"
&nbsp\\;
but it is you who needs to make the decision on what bike is best for you.
the local dealer here in springfield,ma has demo days every friday.

The Dyna is a great handling bike. I had a Softail first, but
traded it for a Lowrider. It was much more fun to ride.
&nbsp\\;
Now I am waiting to get a street glide.
&nbsp\\;
PS I bet the newer softails handles better then the 96 flstc I had!
&nbsp\\;
Good luck deciding

Demo days are great but I would spend the $$ and rent the bikes your thinkin you want.You learn a lot more about a bike if you spend a day on it.I would definately try a Streetglide,you might just like it.Crossbones is pretty sweet

I like softails - wait, we're talking about bikes - I like Road Kings. Very versatile, like what Dave said about his Heritage. I'm 5'10" and the RKC fits me perfectly with stock bars (although i have the hots for some apes).

Wanted to thank you all for the input...I went ahead and bought a brand new Street Bob today and can't say enough about how much I love it so far.&nbsp\\; Everything about it from the sitting position, to the ride quality, handling and so on is SOOOOO much better than the Sporty.&nbsp\\; I'm really impressed with how much easier it is to ride and how much more confident I feel in the larger bike!

Anyways, here's a link to the thread with some pics!

Thanks again, everyone's input helped me make a well informed decision.
