Default road king running terrible

I have a 01 roadking police model, stock except for arlen ness big sucker air cleaner. Riding to work the bike started skipping not too bad but noticable, going home ran fine,,stopped at store and when I left started skipping again intermittently but getting worse as i rode. The bike is not rideable now due to the problem getting worse each time I ride and the engine light comes on and is staying on longer.Bike acts like it is running out of gas, thats all I can think of for now any ideas wold be appreciated. Oh yeah its fuel injected and has a little over 37000 miles.

I have the same bike.&nbsp\\; I had to install a Power Commander III USB.&nbsp\\; Then have it dynoed.&nbsp\\; Depending on the set up I have to assume its running too lean.&nbsp\\; I had all the same symptoms.&nbsp\\; My bike has alot of engine work done and the stock fuel management system could not keep up with demand.&nbsp\\; The bike has run great since the PCIII installation.&nbsp\\; My 2 cents..

Most likely one of three things:&nbsp\\; fuel, air or spark

It could be a intake gasket leak. My friends E-glide std socked in the front gasket at about 40k.

Try checking the battery cables and make sure that it isn't grounding out on anything inside the. This happend to me a while back and this was my problem.

I&nbsp\\;had a&nbsp\\;similar problem on my 2002 FLHP-I.&nbsp\\; Mine ended up being a sensor going bad in the front cylinder.&nbsp\\;5 visits to the dealer, and only a mechanic on the 5th visit, who also had a similar bike, realized what it was.&nbsp\\;I'm not saying that that is the problem with your bike, but it's an easy thing to check.

All you need to do is pull back the rubber boot, and disconnect the cord. &nbsp\\;The sensor is about $40, and comes out with a socket. It took me about&nbsp\\;6 minutes to change it out.

KT pretty much summed it up.

Fuel, air or spark.

If your engine light is comming on longer, you've got a code error.
If it were me, I'd pull the rear plug and take a look, sounds like it's fattening up for some reason and that will tell you in a hurry.
Any recent changes that may have changed the AFR?
Air cleaner, pipes, was it hosed down with detailer and maybe sprayed some close to the air cleaner?
Pull a plug, it might tell you a lot.
