Get a mirror and a flashlight and look at your transmission mainshaft seal. \\;\\\\\\; It's possible that you may have a small leak that isn't dripping. \\;\\\\\\; If you're using gear oil in your transmission, \\;\\\\\\; it doesn't take much of a leak to smell it.

My wife will occasionally complain about the same thing when we are out riding. It is usually after lunch at a Mexican diner.

Recently I have noticed a hot smell on various occassions, I have checked all lube levels, all ok bike runs fine just an odd smell near rear cylinder. Any comments or ideas would be appreciated. Ride Safe.
