Twice my kids have melted shoes on my pipe and I found if I just go out for a ride and get the pipe hot and as soon as I come back I rub it hard with a wet rag it comes off. It's best if you can do that the first time before it can cool.

I use 0000 steel wool on my pipes pretty regularly. Just about every time my wife is on the back, she'll leave boot heel on them. This is the easiest way i've found to get it off, and I've never had a problem with scratches. (quality of chome maybe?)

I would use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and oven cleaner, which should work better than steel wool. Careful&nbsp\\;close to&nbsp\\;the paint with that oven cleaner though.

I agree, I keep some in the garage just for getting rid of light scratches.&nbsp\\; Buffs them right out.&nbsp\\; Just make sure it's the really fine steel wool mentioned above.&nbsp\\; I thought they were crazy when they first told me as well, but I tried it on my pipes and it worked.

I tried WD-40 without luck.&nbsp\\; Have been using the Magic Eraser pads on my white walls and they do work great.

I had a plastic tarp blow onto my hot pipes and melt onto several areas.&nbsp\\; I used balled up aluminum foil and Goo remover and it took it right off.&nbsp\\; No scratches at all.&nbsp\\;
