No problem if installed correctly.Just make sure the hole is straight and use a tap guide.
Threaded inserts are used on aircraft,so they must be safe.

&nbsp\\;If you have the wall thickness this is the prefererred set up over the slinky type helicoil. You can get these from mcmaster-carr.

you might want to consider a threaded insert, much stronger then a helicoil, a litter harder to install but much better

when possibel I prefer to make a insert with a lip installed from the back side
so it can't ever pull out but heli coils have been used for years on almost everything with good results
