I guess I just don't get it. I have to agree with Lucky66, "Just take your car and roll&nbsp\\;the windows up." Why do you even ride a motorcycle? I also don't think wearing ear-plugs on a bike is safe, regardless of how loud the bike is, I can still hear cars coming up behind me and I definately can hear if some cager locks up his brakes. This is information I want to know. I'm also don't like cruise control on a bike, but that's just a personal pet peave.

The complaint was about wind noise not bike noise.When I wear my&nbsp\\; 1/2 helmet I cant hear anything but wind above 45 mph

Scooter, I prefer the wind in my face, not in my ears. I don't ride a motorcyle to listen to the wind... I can buy one of those "nature" sound gizmos&nbsp\\;to place next to the bed for that. &nbsp\\;I admit though, that I&nbsp\\;would like cruise control for long trips... but it's not a deal breaker. &nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Yes, wearing a 1/2&nbsp\\;or &nbsp\\;full helmet helps, but for me it's not enough.

Several years ago when I worked in the log woods I carried a chunk of plain old yellow foam rubber around in a ziploc bag and pulled little pieces off it. Sounds corny, but it worked perfect for toning the saw noise down where you could bear it, but left you able to hear small noises going on around you- Like a tree limb cracking and falling. On my bike I wear a tied bandanna and pull it over my ears under my helmet...

dont mess around. if youre traveling the highway and you&nbsp\\;ride with a half helmet get a good pair of plugs. especially with no windshield.&nbsp\\;else you wont be able to hear your grandkids talking to you without hearing aids when youre older.

oh. and by the way. for all you safety guys out there.&nbsp\\;a good pair of plugs is not a safety hazard. you can still hear. however your eardrums are not sustaining damaging concussion.

They sell the little soft orange foamy ones at Walmart.&nbsp\\; $1.49 for about ten or so.&nbsp\\; They work like a charm.

Toilet paper? Sheeshhhhh

Go to a sport shop a big one and go in the swim wear department. They sell plugs in silicone. Made for swimmers that competes. Or buy a full face.
