Default Saving Up

I'm starting to save up for a bike. How long did it take any of you to save up a down payment or the price of your bike?

I've had bikes before during my younger days, but how about waiting 40+ years to buy a Harley.&nbsp\\; I had to retire before I could afford one.&nbsp\\; Go figure.

Rode KZ's for years, as I saved, the price kept going up. When I bought my first 11k miles for $12K (used) my buddy paid $18,500 for a new one (retail was $12,500). It was a crack head market back then. Now is the time to buy. You can get a Garage Queen with less than 10-20K miles for less than $10K. I'd look at the 1992-2004 models, best deals. Good luck!

Credit scores are more important than how much income you have.&nbsp\\; Folks with good FICO scores can get their bikes with nothing down and low interest rates.&nbsp\\; If you have good credit, shop around.&nbsp\\; You may not have to put anything down.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;I worked hard to increase my FICO score over the last few years because I wanted to by my first house with no down payment.&nbsp\\; After buying the house&nbsp\\;I&nbsp\\;then refinanced my&nbsp\\;truck with my new&nbsp\\;FICO score&nbsp\\;at a way lower interest&nbsp\\;rate.&nbsp\\; Well after the refinace on my truck, the savings pay for my bike payment.&nbsp\\; A wash, and picked up my bike without $1 out of my pocket .&nbsp\\;
