I'd like to get rid of the 08 football (air cleaner) cover (only the cover).&nbsp\\; Is there an alternate cover that won't change the air flow?&nbsp\\; I also have seen some people have simply cut out the center ring and installed it over the filter and discarded the rest of the cover.&nbsp\\; I'm assuming this has to increase the air flow (which i don't want to do), is that correct?&nbsp\\;

The round vintage looking cover similar to the one on the Cross Bones may be an option.

I have a round as seen in my sig pic. Got it at my local dealer.

 

I have the hd billet air cleaner and like it. I use the bagger highflow filter setup all so.

 

Ok, let me re-phrase the question, if I just change or remove the cover, does it effect the air flow (or the A/F ratio)?

Yes and no. Yes it does increase airflow but you still have the same restricted exhaust. I would not believe that changing out the stock breather for another stock breather would lean out your engine enough to matter. Go for it. Check plugs later unless you hear something different out of the engine. Pinging or knocking is bad.
