Still trying to figure out how to post pics but Ive got a teardrop cover on my 07 Heritage. You can see it in my avatar. Got a smaller tear drop that matches it on the other side for the horn cover. Makes a great combo.

 

Get rid of that oval football and get yourself a round one,

 

The pic might be a little small, but this is the stock cover on the Screamin Eagle, this also had the hi-flow filter, so yes this type would increase your airflow.

Oldairboater is correct. You can get different air filter covers from any parts catalog. I have the HD SE smooth round A/C cover for when I want to change looks but usually run with the painted one in the pic.
