Stage 1, Necessary or not?

RE: Stage 1, Necessary or not?
Yes to stage one. If your mileage goes up you might have a too lean condition. I had to remap and fatten up to keep the bike rich enough for my taste. My mileage dropped a little. After stage one I recammed and tune with a sert.

I agree with Stro. I can tell a definite difference in throttle response and off the line reaction since I got my stage 1. I also am for some reason getting approximately 15% better fuel mileage than before the upgrade.

Or you can just wait until they put the v-rod engine in all the bikes. \\; Then you will have real power. \\; You don't need to do it. \\; Will it make your bike as fast as a night rod? The answer to that is no. \\; \\;

i put rinehart slipons on my dyna se air filter and stage one .
i ran very hot ,
so i put a power comander on and put a k and n filter on.the se filter seal was comeing apart it was not rubber but a \\;foam seal.
now it dont run hot
the down load did run faster but it ran hot so i will not get it on my next bike.fuel management is the way to go.i will get the harley race tunner next time i think.
my power comander was done on the dyno and runs good put there are better ones out there that will i think get you more power.

The bike runs fine stock, IMO, and the MoCo warranttees it that way (and you know they wouldn't make a bike that wold cost them money to keep on the road).
But I wonder if the nature of Stage I is about to change. The Nightrider O2 IEDs &\\; XiEDs do almost everything "Stage I" (if not everything) does for a fraction of the cost and time involved.

+1
I was a nightrider skeptic but it only took one ride with the O2 IEDs to become a believer. \\; Better throttle response, \\; stronger and smoother pull through the gears and \\;the exhaust even sounds better. \\; \\;The bike has never run \\;this good. \\; I'm \\;enjoying it so much more. \\; All for $70. \\; \\;

Necessary? Absolutely not. Worth the money? Depends how much you have to waste. A real difference? Yes. Your temp, mpg and wallet will decrease and your hp increase a bit.

What do they actually do in a stage 1 upgrade? What's the price normally? I have V&H SS's, the V&H VO1 air cleaner, and the fuel pak. Would I benefit from a stage 1 upgrade?
