Wild One chubby 508's
I finally pulled the trigger last night, it should arrive thursday sometime ups. I've been thinking about this for a while, just slow to get the order in.
last year i had the dealer install the harley reach handlebars, and I just haven't been happy. still feel like I reach forward when riding which kills my middle back after about 30 miles or so. I just can't get comfortable with them.
I'm really thinking about doing the install myself. wrenching isn't too much of a problem for me and I've got the harley manual and yall if I get stuck. when the dealer installed the reach bars for me, they added (or I was charged anyway) for some amount of wiring extension from the RKC stock bars to the reach bars. IF any of you have gone this same route before, do you think I need to order or replace any wiring extension going from the reach bar to the 508's ?
thanks in advance,
airdog

RE: Wild One chubby 508's
Put 504s on my Heritage about a week and a half ago. Had a couple of questions and simply called up Wild 1 and spoke to one of their techs. Very helpful and willing to answer all my questions. So I would suggest you give them a call.

I put the wild1 518's on shortly after I bought my RK in 2005. \\; I'm by no means a mechanic, and did the entire install myself, including changing the throttle, idle, clutch and brake lines over to braided. \\; If the dealer lengthened your wires, as they charged you for, the wiring portion should be a snap. \\;
 \\;
I completed the project over a weekend, taking my time. \\; Bars have been in place for over three years now without issue. \\; Do it yourself, save some money, and you'll become more familiar with your bike also.
