Loud Pipes - Annoyed Neighbors

RE: Loud Pipes - Annoyed Neighbors
Well holy $h!t that was funny, but it is a good thing my 4 year old was not next to me. You should put some kind of warning on there. But still funnier than $h!t.
Anyhow I leave at 4:30,5:00 every day I generally let it idle in front while I gear up then putt out slowly. If the night before the little "homey G funk gangsta" jack @$$ around the corner comes down the street with his "homey G funk gangsta rap" blaring loud enough to shake $h!t off the wall's in my house, then it's different. Then I putt around the corner, park in front of his house, gear up (while his alarm is going off) then when I am ready to leave I do so at about 5000 RPM and sideways. The first time I did it he came over to my house that night when I got home and we had a few word's. He almost alway's remember's to turn down his music going down my street now.

Neighbor said , You bought a Harley huh, Yea, its pretty cool huh, get used to the noise around here, it louder than the Mustang.
Never heard a complaint, and if I did I would probably say--------
What? it's too loud, now wait a just a miniute, Ill show ya whats loud........
Get a freaking life dude..............Thats what I would really say, and probably would be the last time I ever spoke to them.

RE: Loud Pipes - Annoyed Neighbors
[sm=badidea.gif][sm=gears.gif] When I was younger and still living with the parents, we had a neighbor that complained to my parents that my car, a pseudo hot rod, (1968 pontiac lemans 2 dr 350hp 3 spd, that was fast and loud and never lost a street race) was too loud. I showed loud leaving one morning at 5 am open headers and down shifted right in front of their house. When i got into work the phone was ringing and it was my dad asking why...I simply said I was thinking they should know the difference now between loud and good. they never complained again.[sm=bicker.gif]
Now several years later, when i rode up on the new harley one of my ultra conservative neighbors saw it in the garage an asked is it loud too? I simply responded not yet but dont force the issue. I do roll down my drive and not rev and rack it off when i leave for work now, until out of the subdivision. maybe I am getting soft in my older years.[sm=guilty.gif]

I run SE Pros. They are just loud enough to let you know a Harley lives on my street.
They are not "stupid" loud. A couple of houses down a guy is running drap pipes so I look like a model citizen.

The neighbor right beside me has a Harley too, so he is not a problem. The others.....I say ***** 'em if they dont like it. The local cops wont write a loud exhaust ticket on a Hawg unless you are just being beligerant about it.....I usually just wave the middle finger as I go by......
