This was on the local TV news this morning. Evidently a motorcycle officer was hit by a motorist who said he didn'thear the cop on the bike.

Here in Pittsburgh, PA the city bike cops keep their bikes with them at all times. If a cop wants louder pipes the city splits the cost with the cop. Even cops know loud pipes save lives.
