Pick my new '08 Street Glide up in about 1 hour. Nervous as heck. Haven't rode since the 80's. LOT's of money. Wondering if this was a good idea and all. Dealer (they take a nice photo and frame it and all) and folks will be watching. You get my drift.

I picked up my Street Bob&nbsp\\; on May 16th. and yes I was very nervous. It had only been 5 years since I had been in the wind but still . My Dad( 63) just got his new bike 12 days ago. He hasnt been on two wheels is over 30 years. He was smart about it tho and signed up for a safety course. Also my younger brother is giving Pop alot of one on one couching. Good luck and keep the shiny side up.

 

I was only nervous what was going to happen to me when i got home.&nbsp\\;It wasn't pretty. Almost ended up single again.

Yep, especially since the only riding I had done was in the MSF class and around the gated community on my roommates Sportster.&nbsp\\; He rode his Sportster in front of me and his girlfriend drove her car behind us for th 45 minute trip home.&nbsp\\;

 

i have been that way with every bike that i ever bought.i'll tell you how bad it was i bought a 03 883R and it was in the winter. and i went out and rode it with out gloves or full face helmet. the worse part about it i dont remember being cold.my heart is just pounding when ever i have done it and i have done enough you think i would calm down .no way even when i bought my dyna and i sweat my brains out.so i cant tell you to be calm. but do enjoy your ride.

 

I was the same way. My 07 fatboy was my first big bike, before that I had an old '82 Honda CB750SC. I'd never test rode it, just picked it up. Although I kinda took my time getting ready to go, until there was no one in the parking lot. Just to make sure no one saw me screw up (stall it/dump it). Congrats on the new bike. The feeling passes.
