Bikers protest over fuel prices [/align]


Fuel protesters are travelling on the motorway network outside Manchester to demonstrate against rising fuel prices.

The "slow" protest, organised mainly by motorcyclists, left Birch services just after 0800 BST on junction 18 of the M62, to head into the city centre. Traffic police will try to "manage" the demonstration in a bid to limit disruption to other road users. The protest has been organised by motorcycling clubs, but taxi and lorry drivers are also expected to join in. Police, the Highways Agency and local councils held talks with the protest leaders, but the demonstration had been organised through word-of-mouth and it was not possible to stop it. The Highways Agency warned motorists to find alternative routes and has warned rolling road-blocks could be put in force. The protesters will follow a route into Manchester, driving around the M60 on to the M602.

We need to do it around London, clog up the city ,make it difficult for Brown and co to get to work in the cars we pay for. The fat Scottish **** should wlak it's only 1/2 mile from Downing St. to his place of work.

We did get the Dartford crossing free for bikes eventually, Loads of bikes all with only a £50 note to pay the £0.30 p toll
