Default Anything Worth Seeing In Texas?

We're ridden all over the states surrounding Oklahoma with the exception of Texas. What are the best places to ride to and relax in Texas? North Texas? Hill Country? East Texas? West Texas? South Texas?

"Anything Worth Seeing In Texas?"

Nope. Nada. Peezacrap place. Stay away.

Hey, I like anything different, even miles and miles of miles and miles across the desert.

I got to see the Texas hill country once in a cage and would sure like to bike it. I also liked the SE area that's right up against Looosianna but I didn't get to spend much time there. Found some good catfish and hushpuppies at some little place.

I'd love to spend more time there and get to know it better.

Have a great time.

Austin is my single favorite place on the planet. Austim hill country riding. You can also check out San Marcoa, Los Calinas and all the great lakes along the Colorado.

You got the pineywoods of east Texas as well as southeast. There's the hill country southwest of Dallas and east of Austin. There's the Big Ben area in extreme southwest Texas. Honestly, anything west of Dallas isn't worth seeing except maybe the Possum Kingdom area. lol

Hay Bob,

Been through Texas a number of times and would say it’s well worth the trip. Maybe the best side would be around Dallas area. I’m sure the members in Texas will let ya know. In any case it’s a great state of mind.

Oh, and if you go to Austin you must try these places!

Chewy's
The Emerald Restraunt
The Iguanna Grillle
The Oasis - crappy food but great drinks and INCREDIBLE view
There is a little restraunt on Lake Austin but I can't remember the name of it. Lot's of bikers gather there regularly. Ask any biker, the'll know.
Carlos and Charlies - big a$$ party all the time

Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo is pretty impressive. While your there eat at the Big Texan Steak House and try to finish off their 72oz steak. Take a little tour down Route 66. Pretty damn cool.

Check out the results from Ride Texas magazine, link included here.

This is a pretty good start for what to see and do from a riders perspective.

As an Englishman I loved Texas - I lived and worked for a wee while in and around Houston and Dallas in the mid 80's. I drove a cage from Houston to Dallas and went through some very beautiful country. I loved Austin, Corpus Christi and Palatious - didn't nearly get to see enough ofa State that England will fit into 5 times over and with less than half the population. Fell in love with Luther's Bar'B'Q (I know not cool), Red Lobster, Bennigan's,grits pot roast and Texas women - big but dam beautiful.

Had acop stop me once doing 40 in a school zone and let me off because he wanted to talk about the benny Hill Show - what's that about!
