Default Reinhart Exhaust Caps-This is different!

OK, so I have heard that the caps on the Reinharts can turn reddish in color, but mine....only one of them have turned! Could it be because the cylinders are not tuned the same? I mean could one of the cylinders is running lean/rich and the other is fine? I change my own oil, but I am defianately no mechanic. Does the manufacture replace these caps, or the dealer that installed them?

That would be my guess. i dont know alot about the tech stuff but it would seem that one side duals are runnin hotter then the other. i dont know about the sert, can you tune each cyclinder individually? good luck

My best guess is that your left side tip is showing color as therear cylinder runs hotter than the frontdue to the restriction ofair flowing past the front cylinder.

Or it could be you got one good cap and one bad one, Rinehart had a problem with the black coating on the end caps turning copper, supposedly they have fixed the problem and they new ones are not supposed to color change, I also have had only one change, now if only i could get the other one to match, maybe I'll take a heat gun to it.I kinda like the copper better, lol.

Also the front one changed, not the rear.

I had the same problem with the lower tip (front of engine) turning and the other staying black. On my Dyna I attributed this to excess heat radiating from the top pipe. Never heard of the change with bagger duals.

Thanks for the replys, it is the front one that is turning so....? Is the dealer responsible for changing out the caps or Reinhart? Thanks again.

Good question, I have the Eagle Beak Rineharts on my R.K. and the pipe on the throttle side is turnung the black ring a redish color while the other ring is solid black.I always guessed that the right side is running hotter, but I have no discoloation on the pipe coming out of the cylinder. I was thinking about switching the pipes and then they both would have the same color.
