Maybe you need Ann landers or dear abby to teach you kindergarten manners...

This should be nominated as the stupid question of the year IMO

Shame anyone bothered to answer it...

So what is the proper response when someone compliments your bike?

It happens all the time, and I seem to alternate between:

Random person: "nice bike"
Me: "yep."

-and-

Random person: "nice bike"
Me: "Thank you"

Agreeing with them almost seems arrogant, but saying 'thank you' seems wierd because they're complementing the bike, not me.

Or maybe I'm over-thinking this.

I had a truck with 3 girls roll up to me at a stoplight and the driver said "nice bike!", and with out even blinking (or realizing what I said until the last word rolled off my tounge was "nice ****" and to my surprise! she lifted up her tank top and said THANKS! I almost dumped the clutch in my excitment!..... I couldn't believe that I even said what I did and even more surprised at her reply! man! wished I had a camera for that!

Great answer!!
Damnit, why couldn't I thought of that.....
I will be trying it, though
