You are overthinking it.Most people complimenting your machine mean it,and you will feel it.Some will say it and not mean it because of their particular taste.Only concern yourself with how you feel about it.After all it is your Pride and Joy! You can say whatever it is Okay! Compliments are always a good thing.

Agreeing with them almost seems arrogant, but saying 'thank you' seems wierd because they're complementing the bike, not me.
...I have the same feeling when they compliment my dog....I just say "Tell her thanks girl"...

as for the other things I hear 30 times a day: "Who's walking who?", "Got a saddle for that thing?", "is that a horse?"....it's always the same mindless reply "She's a handfull..."

...OH and the bike....I don't mind talking credit for that, just a quick "I appreciate it"..

I had a truck with 3 girls roll up to me at a stoplight and the driver said "nice bike!", and with out even blinking (or realizing what I said until the last word rolled off my tounge was "nice ****" and to my surprise! she lifted up her tank top and said THANKS! I almost dumped the clutch in my excitment!..... I couldn't believe that I even said what I did and even more surprised at her reply! man! wished I had a camera for that!

Hey thanks alot... I would say..Then if she is a fine woman I would ask for number and find out if she wants to ride.

otherwise, just a thanks would be cool.
