7.5 hours to install apes?

7.5 hrs sounds a bit high, but you do not mention the model or how tall the apes are. Running the wiring through the bar can be a PIA.

I had my dealer put on 14" apes with internal wiring and braide cables. THey only charged me 4 hours labor at 80 bucks an hour. I say tell them 7 hours is a little much. Again, depending on the model.

6.5 hours @ $75/hr = 487.5 quoted from local dealer bfore my crash. apes, internal wiring...found a highly recomended indy quoted me 3-5 hrs. @ $50/hr.= 150-250 said he wanted to give himself a little extra timein case he had trouble with internal wiring or had to drop the pipes to get to clutch cable.no brainer if i was gonna let someone else do the work...

When moco had the handlebar recall on 06 Wide Glides, my stealer told me they gave seven hours labor credit to the service departments to do the work. I used that opportunity to upgrade to Wild-1 drags at moco's expense.

Sounds like to me, you have a pretty honest indy mechanic back there, hr wise and price wise, treat him nice, and respectful. A guy i know just had his bars replaced, he eventually got some $ knocked off, and gift card for 50 bucks. Better than nothing.

Hey, for whatever it's worth:
I have an 07 Lowrider and wanted the dealer to install mini apes. They told me it would be $1,000 to @$1400. ?????????? WOW !!!!!!!!!!
I still have my original bars on there. And learning to love them.

i put 2 1/2 risers on my bike dealer wanted 3hr labor at 90 bucks per, and said i would need new braided brake line, my indy said one hr, and my line would work just fine, he was right and guess who got the job, stay away from these thiefs, most indys are ex h.d mech anyway
