Default Back Tire Screwed

I was getting ready for a poker run tomorrow and rolled the bike out for a quick clean up and quickly realized the friggin back tire is flat. Upon looking closer I found a damn screw embedded in the center of the tread. This sucks!!!! We finally get a day when it isn't supposed to rain and I've got a flat tire, my luck is not worth a sh*t!!

Yea, it sucks, but this has happened to me twice! Just go to your local dealer or indy and have them put in a tube, cost about $20.00 for the tube,$20.00 labor.Saves you the price of a new tire.

I agree, put a tube in it. If the tread is about 1/2 gone, just get a new tire.

Got a finishing nail in my rear tire a while ago that gave it a slow leak. The Dealer refused to put a tube in it. Something about the liability. Had to find an Indy and it cost me about $80.00.

I would just put a plug in it. Many people don't like/trust plugs but the one time I had to do it I never had a problem and ran the tire down until I needed a new one with no problems. But it is each to his own on this issue.

Here is the kit I use http://www.stopngo.com/motorcycle.asp

Your luck is 50/50. It happened in the garage not on the road I bought a new tire for mine and got screwed with less than 100 miles on it. I bought another one. Some are ok with a plugged tire some aren't. For a new tire that you will put 10-12k on I went with a new one but I carry a plug kit for emergences.

I always carry a plug kit with me and a small pump made by slime. You never know when you might need it. At least your flat was at home and not out in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah the tire was about 1/2 tread and I was planning on replacing it this fall anyway on MY schedule. Called a local indy and he has a tire and will sell me tire installed on rim for $150.00 which compared to the stealership is 1/2 price. The only catch is I need to bring in the wheel which to save $150 I can do that. Hope you all had a good day riding.

don't know if you have a mag or lace wheel but if a mag, you coulda got a plug kit at walmart or any auto store for around 5 bucks. Of course you need to pump it up, but they sell those too...I have a plug in my rear tire and it's holding air fine.....live and learn

Well after giving it some more thought and at the suggestion of many ofyou I went ahead and plugged the tire. I do have mag wheels on my Lowrider so I thought what the hell I'll give it a try. Went for a 20 mile ride or so afterward and checked the air pressure and it was still dead on. Thanks for the replies, once again a big help by all.
