Dealer just charged me $162 for a new battery. WTF?

I feel so violated. The parts dude said something about the price of lead going way up. Anyone else heard of this? Did I just get ****ed?[sm=icon_flaming.gif]

I heard all vehicle batteries had a dramatic increase about a month ago. Bikes, cars, lawn mowers, all batteries, at a 25-30% hike!

Don't know about the exact price, but would think you should be able to do it your self for half that.

At least install it. I see them online for $75 - $85. I think you screwed your self just by going to the dealer for a battery.
