It wouldn'tbe legit in FL, but this bike is in NY, so it may be.

Well, it could be. If I was trying to buy it, I'd tell the guy we'll do an escrow. We both sign a contract with an escrow company (or an attorney or bank or whatever)...I give the escrow holder the money. I take possession of the bike and the paperwork, and I have 10 days or whatever we agree on to get the title cleared and issued in my state. Then I authorize the escrow holder to release the money to him and we're done. If it takes me longer than the agreed-upon time, or I wreck the bike or drop it off a truck or whatever, the escrow company gives him the money, and we're done. If I try to register it and it comes up stolen, I notify the escrow company, I get my money back, the state takes the bike and he gets sh*t (or maybe prosecuted for theft, I don't know).

Once the escrow holder has all the stuff from both sides, neither side can cancel or back out without the other's consent.

If it's legit and he's just too lazy or whiny to do it right with both of us protected, he's welcome to keep his bike as far as I'm concerned.

Kevdog, It looks like similiar to a salvage title in MA...I wouldn't want one unless the price is incredible...resale would be a bear

Hey Ace, I didn't know you were on this forum too! I'm not considering buying this bike but was just curious about the situation, I wouldn't buy a bike unless it had a totally clean title anyway.
