I’ve often wondered that myself?

 

Many of us obscure our tags for security reasons. In the state of Maryland, your registration is considered public record. Anyone can submit a request to the MVA and find out who owns a specific vehicle. Considering I've posted my theories on alarm vs. no alarm, preferences of locks, after market parts, and so on . . . . I'd prefer to make it harder for the dishonest to use this forum to shop for the next bike to steal.

 

There are those, that the plate info in plain view wouldn't matter anyway. The "those" I refer to, are the folks that have their full name, home town and zip code listed in their profile.

 

Likely those that also are locked and loaded, just in case...

As a general rule I don't trust people on the internet. Posting your vacation plans on the internet along with a way to identify your exact address is a good way to find your house stripped bare when you get home. It's a good idea to leave the last little bit of exactly where you live off.
