You can usually figure that any email that uses varying size and color of text to get your attention is full of hooey.

I have a friend that used to drive a fuel tanker.
All the gas around here comes from Selma NC at a tank farm, when he pulled up for chevron gas the same gas that was pumped into his tanker was the same as for shell, etc., etc.
The differance was that for chevron he would put one code into the computer and as the fuel went into the tank the chevron blend of additives were added.
Same for shell, etc., etc.
So at least around here, you cant go to one station or another because all the gas around here comes from the same place, and how do you know where it came from before it got there.
So this is really a hard thing to do.

Oops, sorryyyyyy....
...but here's more - the other post is correct - you can't even guarantee that a Sunoco station is selling gas refined from non-Mideast oil cuz the limited refineries get all the oil & blend additives for different brands. You can only reward for importing non-Mideast oil or using US stock. [:'(]

The obvious solution is... support companies that buy Canadian oil!!! We're (mostly) friendly with the Americans, and if that fact ever changed, you guys could just squash us anyways.

the name of the oil company has no real correlation on where their oil comes from. gasoline comes from regionalized terminals thruout the US. a truck may deliver a part load to a Shell station and then go to the BP down the road and dump the rest. Gas is Gas and the real difference is whether it has ethanol or not.

I've pointed friends & family to the above site as a reference on where & where not to buy their gas. Hopefully, the information is accurate...I assume they've done their homework.
Personally, I usually buy from Hess.

Most oil imported into the US comes from Canada & South America. Thousands of Americans earn their living owning Citgo gas stations, working at Citgo refiners, or emplyed by Citgo in some other capacity. Support Americans - buy your gas in America.
