Helmet...
So the ol' lady has recruited my mother and together they are badgering me pretty bad about wearing a helmet when riding. Now, I have a few helmets that I have collected over the years, yet none of them seem to fit the bill as far as what I want. I have an old school 3/4 face helmet that my uncle gave me when I started riding around the farm. I also have 2 full face helmets, neither of which I like wearing while riding my Harley, especially on hot days. I also have a HJC half helmet that feels very bulky/clumsy. While all of them fit, I don't care for any of them. I'm trying to find a lightweight, DOT approved, "streemlined" 1/2 faced style helmet... for cheap. Any idea of a good place to look online? I know places like www.leatherup.com have what appears to be good deals, but I'm not sure if they're "non-bulky" enough for me. Any suggestions? Thanks!

STFW. Really though, go find a metric shop and try a few thousand on. Helmets are 100% personal to you - what you like most others won't.
I wear an HJC full-face year round, hot or cold.

BMW do a System V helmet that comes apart and with the purchase of a few accessories converts into all different types of helmets so maybe that's the way to go and when you wake up you can reassemble it into whatever style floats your boat on the day!

Helmets are such a personal thing hard to suggest what is good for someone else... What's wonderful to one person is a torture contraption to another.
Trying them on at various shops is your best bet. I wear the HJC ("AC-2M" is the model IIRC) half helmet and like it alot. I do have a FF by Icon also for cold weather or rainy days.

I have an ACC carbon fiber half helmet and swear by it. Doesn't make me look like the Great Gazoo, and it's DOT legal.
