Default Harley and Heat

I am new to the Harley family, just bought an 08 Street Glide. I have been reading about heat deflectors, oil coolers and wind deflectors. For those of you more experienced, what can I expect heat-wise while riding in the dead of summer? I already have put 2800 miles on and have nothing but positive things to say. However the weather has been cool. Thanks for your help.

To help manage the heat and help the engine may I suggest a full synthetic engine oil, I'll let you figureout what brand, but I've trusted Mobil120w50 V-Twin for many, many years. It's your call. Then if your budget permits, put an oil cooler on your bike. I'm using Jaggs on both of mine with an oil filter adapter. Welcome to the Harley family. Lot's of good info here and some ribbin' , good luck with your ride and ride safe.

Heat. XiED. Much less heat. But you decide if it's worth a hundred dollars.

+1-----stay out of parades and long idle times. Nice to see another firefighter on a Harley. There are a bunch of us on here.

Thanks for the help. I've got a leg up on your suggestions, I changed to Amsoil at 1000 miles. I've read a lot of good things about the Jags oil cooler. I think I'll wait to see how hot it gets when the weather turns (if ever). I've also had the stage one with fuel pack, Rush exhaust and breather installed.

Thanks

I have an 05 electraglide classic with vance and hines true duals and rush slipons with a stage one and kand n filter.
It has full synthectic in all three holes and it seems to not run any warmer then my old 05 sportster I had.
