Well, there is a difference.
A "Biker" is more defined by what one does while off the motorcycle. In fact, there are "Bikers" that do not even have a motorcycle that is on the road. Being a Biker is a lifestyle seprate and apart from saddle time on a motorcycle. While the Biker subculture is heavily integrated with riding motorcycles the converse is certainly not the case as "Riders/Motorcyclist" abound without ever having a chance, in some cases a desire, to be a "Biker."
There are htose who will put 20,000 or maybe 50,000 miles per year on a motorcycle that will never even be close to a Biker yet there are those that barely put 200 miles a year on their motorcycle (if they even own one) yet certainly qualify as a legitimate Biker.
There are Boaters and there are Seaman. Both spend some time ont he water and sometimes have the smell of salt and enjoy som pubtime shoreside but going out on your Boston Whaler in the Sound or coctailing at the Yacht Club aboard your Sea Ray hardly makes you a Seaman. By the same token, I have thousands of hours on the high seas and hold a USCG Masters rating but am truly not a Seaman - though I like to smell ike salt and have been known to frequent a sailor's bar or two.
Remember, you are no more "armed" because you carry a gun that you are a musician because you carry a guitar!

I ride a bike and like New England style chowder. But then I live in a suburban area but I am not rich so I can't be a RUBI must just be an UB or maybe and UR.
