Default WTK: OnGuard Boxer Disc Lock ~ Any Good?

My wife bought me an OnGuard Boxer, 10mm disc brake lock. Looking for comments from fellow users of this lock. Should I keep it or go with another name brand (Kyrpto, Kuryakyn)?

Locks keep honest people from stealing your bike. Here is something to consider .... With a disc brake lock, what is stopping me from unbolting the disc and using a couple ty-wraps to strap it out of the way with the disc brake lock attached?

The bottom line is if someone wants your bike, you can't stop them. So I would keep the lock and use it, then you won't have to explain to your wife that her present wasn't good enough.

It seems to be a decent lock, just looking for feedback from those who may have used it.

Don't want a lock that can be opened with a pen / pencil

The important issue here is time, the longer it takes a thief to move your bike, the more likely he/she is to be detected. So what your disc lock does is makes it more dangerous for them to fuss with your ride. But if they want it badly, they'll get it, disc lock or not. All you have to do is slow them up and they're gone, to them, not worth the risk. Keep your wife's gift and use it!
