I not only understood the story from the outset, but I know what kind of trailer he's talking about. One of those lightweight dirt bike/small street bike trailers that doesn't have a bed, only a metal U-shaped track (or if it's a 3 place, 3 tracks) just wide enough for the tires to sit in. Unfortunately, the tires on a full-size bike are too wide and the bike wouldn't sit down in the track. (I know this from experience, but I didn't try solving the problem by cutting up the trailer...)

Hmmm. I got it the first time too.
You're right about the ditch thing. I can't tell you how many times I backed a pickup into a ditch, dropped the gate & rode the bike on. You just have to stay on it to hold the bike while your buddy drives the truck out of the ditch.

I understood the initial post fine. What I don't understand is why proceed past the part where you started cutting into the rental trailer. Sounds like a comedy of errors and too bad you didn't video and/or take pictures. Sounds like ONE BIG HILLARIOUS MESS and at someone elses expense!

Ya the whole scene was a comedy. I will never forget it though. The lady in the avatar is my special friend.
Oh and yes you described the trailer just right.
As far as the check goes it cleared. But it was backed by the bank he got the loan from pending their reciept of the title.Lady called me when she got the title and activated the check. We use the same bank so there was little risk. My bank called his bank and they did lunch.
