Heading out of here (Kentucky) in a couple of weeks to go to the Republic of Texas rally in Austin. That means going through these states. I'm pretty sure Tennessee has a mandatory helmet law, what about Arkansas and Texas. Ithink Texas has one of those laws where you don't have to wear one if you meet certain conditions...what are they and how are they applied to out of staters?

 

Arkansas requires a helmet. Oops, I just looked in my HOG Handbook and it shows a helmet required if under 21 years of age.

Texas outlaws helmets. Oops. Same Handbook states required under age 21; not required over 21 with successful completion of rider training or $10,000 in medical insurance. I have never been stopped and checked in TX.

Thanks. Staying with my ex sister in law, and she tells me it's 95 there now, probably hotter by the time ROT gets here. Not really looking forward to that kind of heat, but hear it's a heck of a party. Think you'all could turn the heat down for us when we get there???
