Default Heckling

On the ride home from work tonight I ran into some real winners. Minding my own business on the way home probably going 60mph or so. Some car came up on me like a bat out of hell. It was a white 4 door sedan, early 90's, a little rusted out. I was just into the curve on a double yellow into a somewhat blind S curve with an intersection just out of view....he goes around me and darn near clips me. He must have been going about 80. On top of almost clipping me the sun was going down and I couldn't really see around the curve, I dunno how he was gonna. This was about the third inconsiderate driver I had ran into on my commute home. As he whipped by me I was a little heated and I gave him the 1 finger salute and his passenger returned the favor. About a half mile ahead the guy decides to stop on the road. I slow down giving him some space to try to figure out what in the hell he was doing...he then pulls off the road and tries to kick up rocks and dust for about a mile or so. If he was in such a hurry to blow around me through a double yellow in a curve....I'm surprised he had the time to mess with me. The wind was blowing good and it wasn't bothering me at all. The cars and trucks driving the other way didn't seem too impressed though. There was no way to win at this so at the next gravel road I just pulled off and let the guy go down the road. I'm pretty sure it was three high school kids. In the greater scheme of things not really a big deal...no harm no foul. I suppose one is bound to run into ******** and idiots more than the usual inattentive motorist. I just wondered what some of you guys have delt with and how you handled it?

Think I'd be careful about giving the one-finger salute. Could have run you off the road, etc. and then what? Road rage is not worth it, don't care who started it.

For the sake of sounding like a wuss, the one finger salutes are more of instigating road rage than what it meant maybe ten years ago. They will get their justice, maybe not tomorrow or the next day but someday. If possible change your route if possible, or take a ten minute break from the ride , put some distance between you and the other vehicle.

Think it's time to start mounting camera's on the bikes, take a shot of the a-holes and report them. Don't know if it will do any good, but it's worth a try.

Just last weekI had a guy tailgating me, soI moved over close to the white line hoping he would find the nutts to just pass instead of tailgating. When he passed he didn't seem to feel the need to use the wholeoncoming lane and went around with about 1-2 feet between us. I was REALLY pissed but did nothing. I figure he had around 3500-4000 pounds behinde him so I just rode and got over it. I thought about following him till he stopped but now days it aint worth the trouble. My biggest fear is flying the bird and they slam on their brakes in front of me.

Exactly. Any confrontation between a bike and a cage, the bike and rider lose.

Let it go.

you guys need to stand up for yourselfs a little bit more. I aint sayin that it needs to lead to violance, but if someones a jerk and acts in a disrespectful way you need to let them know and how you feel. Im kinda upset ready that no one wants to standup for themselves anymore

Let it go. Eventually these idiots end up as a statistic. That kind of attitude usually follows them throughout life, and they whine about what a crappy deal they have been dealt. Too bad...
