Great move Trav, bet it feels good. Go by DMV and see if you can practice the driving part after hours. Some have the lines in the public parking lot so you can go in after their closed. That way you can simulate the test they do. Practice a couple times so you're used to it.

Glad to hear you decided to get your mc endorsement, very smart move. I know you said you think you already ride very well, but the MSF Experienced Rider Course is taken using your own bike, not the 250cc Rebel or whatever provided for the basic class and is a very good course for those who have been riding for years even.

CHP is NOT overlooking cyclist without mc endorsements. You face a boat load of problems if you are stopped. Bike towed, big fine. Just don't cry about it when it happens. If you are going to play you are going to pay.

I think, god fobid anything ever to happen, but it would only be then that you would find out how good your insurance really is. It's called finding out the hard way.

Thanks.....I will for sure. I checked out the test course in the parking lot and that circle and lines are pretty narrow.

I teach people to ride and also rent out my rebel 250's for those taking the dmv skills test. It is truly amazing how many riders call me to rent the bike and when I tell them they need to schedule a practice session before their test date -they say no they are great riders and dont need to practice- well trust me on this one- out ofevery 100 riders- those who just show up and try to take the test about 2 riders can actually pass the first time- the rest fail miserably. It is really not that the test course is that difficult but that most riders never ride at an idle speed enough to really get good balance and thus when required to do slow speed work and stay within small spaces and also have to turn the handlebars almost full lock to lock in the circle- they simply cant do it. So find a local dmv where the test course is open after hours and do spend timeworking on the course. Oh yeah- since you ride an HD- only do the slow speed stuff for 10-15 minutes and then ride around the block to cool off your motor..
