Well to start with you didn't mention which models you are considering.....there's a big difference between models. A crotch rocket? a Goldwing? A Sportster? A Harley Bagger? There are a lot of differences between models. Your statement is to broad.[sm=smiley25.gif]

First you have to decide what you want a bike to do!

If you're only riding 4-5,000 miles a year, a Moped will do it!

In my humble opinion

HONDA = Had One Never Do it Again [:-]

I chose to ride a Harley for the most important reason, it is what I want to ride.

It's your decision. Ride what YOU want.

What was your name? WantAHarley.

Just pick the one you want, customize it your way and ride your ride.

I have a brother that had bought a Suzuki and he heard my bike one day, he was riding and caught up with me and he said he liked the sound of the exhaust. A few weeks later he had bought a new '05 Dyna Low-rider and he sold his Suzuki and lost money. He had the Suzuki for a few months.

They are both great manufacturers. Resale on a Harley is much greater. Ive owned both, twice. I am riding a Harley again. If $$ is no object, a Harley would be the way to go. If you choose Honda, you will always regret not buying the Harley instead!

I bought a Suzuki Volusia in March of 2003. It was a great bike for around town riding. However, my parents moved from the Midwest to Virginia Beach about two years ago so I thought I would ride up to see them from time to time. Well the Suzuki I had just was not good for long distance (parents are 2.5 hrs. away) I would arrive at their house and feel like I was beaten down and wore out. Needless to say I sold my Suzuki and bought a 2006 Road King about 3 weeks ago. I have taken it out on a couple long rides and it rides and handles much smoother. When I get off after a long ride I don't feel worn out. I guess it depends on what you plan to do with your bike....long rides, short rides, back and forth to work?? I would say what sold me on the Road King is when I went to the local HD dealer and they were offering demo rides. I rode all of them from the VROD to the Electra Glide. I chose the Road King and am very happy with it. Good Luck and the best thing to do is to ride them and you will see the diffrence.

Honda makes a quality bike, but I didn't buy the VTX for a couple of reasons.
The fit and finish of the Harley is better.
Honda's tank seem.
Front end wobble.
Not as many accessories.
Exhaust sound (1800).

I would buy a Kawasaki 1600 before the Honda VTX.

But the Harley package is better, even at a higher cost. I bought a Road King to ride, so I don't care about resale value. Which is becoming less of an issue as Harley makes enough bikes that you can get a new one without waiting a year.

Harley has a better package.

If I were you, I would buy the Honda.
