Default HOG Stock at $40?

Guys,
What it the opinion of Harley (HOG) Stock. It is almost back to $40, down from $70+, but up from about $35. Do you think this is a good buy at $40 or should we all sell because it is going down? I know dealer sales have been a little slow lately and the company has cut production to try to lower inventories.

It's more of a buy thana sell....It would depend on when you bought HOG (if you bought at 70, I would be buying more at 40...not sell off). HOG isn't going anywhere and at 30-40, it's a bargain.

Buy now hold on to it until folks have enough money to start buying bikes again. Then you can go get some more parts for the bike...

If you bought this stock you need to hold onto it for a good while. It will take a couple years for the stock to hit back up 70 IHMO.When and if this downturn starts on the way back up and all the people become short memoried again about how we got in this mess in the first place, orders will start back at the factory.Stock will rise based on a small order increase,or anything else that triggers good news.It doesn`t have to be a quarterly report. With the weak dollar you could expect overseas orders to pick up and this could also bring the stock up in a hurry.35 to 40 was an adjustment to correct the price. If this stock drops way down look for corporate to step in and buy on the cheap. If you had bought this stock in the early 80`s you would be sitting very pretty

I'll have some money in July and I'm buying. Heck the stock's cheaper than the chrome parts. All the money I contribute to HD I might as well own a part of the company.

Given the surplus in inventory and the slowdown in "luxury" spending the current economy has created, there are certainly better places to put your money to work in the market.

Buying a stock, of any company, due to a sentimental attachment to the brand, is gambling with your hard earned money. Do the necessary research, understand how the company you're investing in makes money, and how the current economy will affect it's ability to make money, and your hard work will reward you.

Just my $.02 worth ......
