Thanks guys...come to think of it, my KZ1000 had spokes and I never had a problem, never checked them for looseness, never really had a problem cleaning them. We'll see what happens. I think I prefer the aluminum wheels but I won't let that stop me from getting a color and style I like.

 

You can buy spoked wheels that accept tubeless tires. I should know, that's what I have on my Electra Glide! Only put about 10k miles on them so far, but not one problem, and didn't have any problems with the stock wheels on my Lowrider.
